The Tostock Book Group was the brainchild of a former resident, Heather Spencer, who started the group in 2004. Since its beginning it has grown. So much so, that the membership has had to be restricted to residents only. Although numbers fluctuate at meetings, there are currently about 20 members.
Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month - except December - at 8.00pm. Members who feel they can accommodate the group take turns to host the meetings. These are lively, convivial occasions, with refreshment, for which £1.00 per person is given to the host to cover expenses. Most months a particular title is set for discussion, with libraries supplying many copies.
